Blue Crush is about four girls living in Hawaii. One of the girls is still in high school, while the other three are working at a hotel on the island. The girls are all trying to make it on their own in a small shack by the beach. One of the hotel guests offers a few hundred dollars in return for surfing lessons from the four girls. The girls take the offer and are soon giving the guys surfing lessons. As time goes by, one of the girls ends up falling in love with one of the guys. Well, she’s a hotel maid and he’s a big time football player. She also has to practice for her big surfing contest. The boy gets in the way of the girl practicing and she lets her friends down. Towards the end of the movie, she learns a few important lessons.
The maid’s outfits are like short, green moo-moos. They are mainly white with green palm leaves on it. The hotel guests are wearing Speedos. The three older girls wear the top to their bathing suit with a pair of shorts. The girl’s robe is of a cotton material and it is white with an embroidered symbol on the left side. The girl’s dress is black and it comes to about her knees. None of the main girls look like they are wearing make-up. They all have a light powder base on their cheeks and a little bit of lipstick. The make-up is kept very simple and light.
The girls whined and cried when they didn’t have enough money to buy breakfast. She threw herself in between the two boys to prevent a fight. She put her hands on both of their chests to keep them from getting any closer. The girls smiled and hugged the sheets when she woke up in the hotel room. The girls were screaming when they got the offer for a few hundred for surfing lessons. The girl was struggling to reach the surface. She kept moving her arms, but she wasn’t getting anywhere. Her head hit the rock and her body immediately fell limp.
The shack was on a beach. It was surrounded by lots of sand and some palm trees. The hotel entrance had a driveway under a roof. There were potted plants outlining the driveway. The ground leading up to the entrance was a stamped concrete. The beach had lots of sand around. The ocean was blue and white. The waves slowly rolled in and out. There were a lot of trees on the beach. There were palm trees leaning towards each other providing shade on the sand. The school had a field in front of it. The field was green and the grass was short. Behind the school there was a forest full of trees. Behind the trees was a great, big, gray mountain.
The sound of the waves could be heard in the background. Crashing and rolling on the shore. The loud speaker was going off when the surfers were surfing. A man’s voice came over the loud speaker and he was talking about the surfers. Drums were playing at the luau. In the morning, the sun was coming up over the horizon and shadows were cast on the surfer’s faces. Inside the shack the rooms were dark. Only the light was coming in from the windows.
